The Buddhist Master Xuyun, Hsu Yun.

Xuyun or Hsu Yun was a monk for 100 years that kept his vow.

He recovered from an attack by the red guard where he was beaten and injured.

His bones were broken.

Attacked twice. Wooden bars the first time, iron bars the second time. But he recovered

and lived to be 120 years

of age.

Beaten up he was 110 years old, his disciples asked him to let go of life for their sake.

His answer: I am alive

for the attackers, because if I die the karmic retribution would be so awful for them,

I do not want to be responsible for that.

I am staying alive so they do not suffer the negative karmic consequences

causing my death.
